Just like any other year March through October, you can find us at the races - so I have lots of pictures of my family on bikes to share. All my racers (Jake, Nathan, and Livy) are rockin' the ICUP series, and Elle and JD can't wait until they are old enough to participate too. (yay for me)
Probably our favorite race of the year is the one up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming - its a great excuse for us to go stay in the house in Star Valley and check on things there. Nathan had his 10th birthday the day we drove up, so we had to celebrate a little differently than usual. He loves it up there anyway, so felt like the trip was a great way to spend the day. He raced for the last time in the 9 and under category before moving up to the 10-12 year old class. The day was a little cooler than usual and rainy at the start, but we all had fun and everyone did great. Jake took 3rd place in his category, Nathan took 5th in his, and Livy 3rd for girls. Congrats racers!!

J.D. and the famous "handsome hair" he gets after every ride - most of us come back looking at little wind blown, but J.D. comes back looking stylin' - just like its been combed for church.
Our giant slip & slide proved to be more painful than fun - which is why I only have pictures of Jake going down it. All the kids chickened out, but they did have fun squirting each other with the freezing cold well water.

Then at the next race back in Utah at the Snowbird ski resort, we spectators had some excitement of our own - down the hill off the trail we spied a Momma moose and her 2! - count 'em - 2 calves!! They were pretty far away from us, so pardon the bad picture, but it was so cool to see.
We figured Daddy moose couldn't be too far away, and sure enough once things got underway, race officials sent around a warning that he was spotted RIGHT off the trail and to be very careful when going through that section. Of course we took off in search of him, and this time, no zoom lens required - he really was that close!
